DISCLAIMER:

I am an artist, not a software developer. (Really, I even went to school.) I’m not using this as an excuse to write sloppy code, but you should know where I’m coming from if you’re interested in this project and have contributions or comments. This is relevant for a few reasons:

I write code to do things that I am interested in more than I am interested in code. Some people are this way, some people aren’t.

My working concepts emerge through process, not planning. Some of the code in this release may reflect that in its transitory state.

I understand that failure is a huge part of creating something. So if you have a useful criticism, I’m not going to take it personally. So don’t assume that I’ll get defensive and start off offensive.

I do have one excuse. CRATES is more limited in its functionality and scope than I want it to be right now, but my plans for working on it -- and my plans for everything else -- were severely interrupted recently. So it’s going to take longer than I hoped before CRATES is doing anything really exciting.
